Due to recent vandalism, the Home Park restroom is closed until further notice for repairs.
See below for more information.
Home ParkHome Park is a Key Peninsula success story, proving what a group of determined individuals can do. Once full of trash, it was revitalized in a pilot program called "Pierce County Responds," and the site's trash items were removed by Pierce County Public Works and volunteers. Home Park is now a well-loved gathering space of the community, with playgrounds for all ages and picnic shelters for events!
During the weekend of April 20th and 21st, the Home Park restroom was vandalized, leaving our maintenance team to remove debris and trash, clean up graffiti, and replace the toilet lid.
The restroom was vandalized again over the weekend of April 27th and 28th. The toilet seat was once again broken, and the replacement needs to be ordered and shipped. Unfortunately, after this second incident, the restroom facility will remain closed until repairs can be completed. Please do not dump anything other than toilet paper down the toilet. Our maintenance team suits up and fishes out any larger trash from the toilet, so please be considerate and throw all trash in the park trash can, not the toilet. |
